Default endorsements other than air brakes and combination

Hey all im studying up for trip to the dmv tommorrow. I am confident about my general knowledge air brake and combo tests been scoring high eighty and low to mid 90's on practice tests. Do you think I should try some of the other endorsements(doubles triples, tanker))? Or just get the 3 that school requires I get and add others later?

Ive taken a couple practice tests with out reading the sections on doubles and triples and tankera whole lot. Also If I pass general knowledge combo and ir brakes and i attempt the doubles and triples and tanker tests and fail will I have to wait to pass those tests in order to get my permit or will they give me my permit with just the air brakes, and combo endorsements?

You need to pass the three and if you fail tanker and doubles you just fail those. You need to read up on them instead of just taking them.Tanker is a great one for you to take based on the area you live in.Your in the hiring zone for alot of them. concentrate on the 3 and let me know how you do.You will do fine because you really want it. dont second guess, if you feel its the right answer then stay with it.

They don't charge for the endorsements in MD, and they should only take a few minutes. I'd say go for it. If you got that white book in the MVA, it has all the info you need to pass their tests. I did them and passed with no problems. With the tanks, just make sure you know the difference between a bulkhead and a baffle. With doubles-triples, heavy weight to the front. There may be a filler question or two from the combo or general test.

Oops, time to get going; licensing test today!

Read through the doubles and triples section a couple of times and the tanker section a couple of times and you should have little problem with the tests.

Each of those exams are the shortest and easiest to take and pass. Also about 75-80% of what is covered in those sections you would have already learned in general knowledge and air brakes.

In Texas, the additional endorsements are free when taking the others. I personally decided to go ahead and take them all even though I have no desire to pull a tanker or d/t. I did this for one simple reason.......why not get them and open as many doors as possible vise limiting myself. Rather have them and not need them than to need them and not have them.........

    Default Endorsements

Get 'em all, including passenger (think tour bus), not to be confused with school bus. Many states don't charge for endorsements when getting initial Class A license. BOL

In Rhode Island They make you pay for everything. We cant get our CDL at a company school the tranfer it,we'd have to do the whole test over in Rhode Island.

I nailed it today. I was able to take the written test (paper and pencil) got 100's on both air brakes and combo. was gonna attempt tanker and doubles and triples but didnt have time if i wanted to walk out of dmv with my permit today.(i was cutting it close being on time for work)
So I got my permit with air brake and combination endorsements. Im going back wednesday after I read the doubles and triples and tankers sections a few times so i can ace them(it will cost me 20 bucks for the corrected permit but well worth it)!

Shoot maybe I will even read passenger too and get that for :dung: and giggles.

im really happy(see im smiling) i got my permit now all i gotta do is wait for febuary

Congratulations on getting the permit. I suggest getting all the endorsements. I have everything on my CDL except passenger. It will give you options. You may never need them, but if you do you won't need to go back and get them.

You absolutely should get the Passenger endorsement. There are always tour bus jobs, both full time and part time around our parts. It never hurts to have many options available.

I am not sure what MVA you are going to, I assume Glen Burnie, but if you make the drive out to Frederick you will save yourself all kinds of heartache. Much faster and friendlier out here in my area.

I agree with the Frederick locale. That's where I took mine, very pleasant. This was in 93, but probably still holds true. Having been to Glen Burnie MVA one time, I wouldn't want to test there.

I went to belair for my knowledge tests. tHe lady in the law room (Ann) was an older lady very pleasant. and personable wanted to see me do well. she was there the first day when i meed that test she saw that i was discouraged a little. I was able to take the paper and pencil version of the test yesterday since i failed the computer. When I got the test form c for the first test she stuck with that form the whole way through as it was the lucky form.

I think i will schedule my test at either frederick or hagerstown. A friend of mine who drives locally suggested hagerstown, since thats where he got his cdlfrom. he said they were real friendly and laid back.
