Dennis.. you dont say but how did you like the training you got with Roehl?
Im currently trying to get to Schneider (out of Green Bay) for training but my BF would love for me to go with Roehl due to the fact that his best friend and best friends GF drove for them and the school is only 30 miles from his house. Roehl looks pretty good but I would have to come up with the money for school myself and i dont remember if they guarantee a job once i finish school with them.

gmh - the trucks do not have auto cancelling signals. That was to remind us. I soon got into the "grab a gear , turn signal off" routine.

    kahlana,
Are you kidding me? I would pick Roehl over Schneider ANY DAY. You don't have to pay for school. They hire you if you pass. And you pay it back by driving for 120K miles, prorated starting payback of $800 counted at 60K miles. If for some reason you have to pay some back, you can do that by monthly payments.

I assume most tractors don't have auto-cancel. I thought about it after school one day, and figured that (especially when backing) you could turn the wheel in both directions while moving the trailer one way, if the signals self cancelled, they would cut out mid maneuver.

And I'd ask you in a pm (but I don't have enough posts), but in reference to your sig: did you ever see the Twilight Zone episode where the older guy and his dog die and wind up walking down a country road, and offered entrance to two places off the side of the road?

    kahlana, that's YOUR job right?

When you call Roehl ask for Rob and tell them I said he should take good care of you.

Brings back memories. I did my orientation in Marshfield. It was great little town. Does Troy still do the orientations?

I do have to say I did see a hot chick up there. I guess she was Rick Roehls Grandaughter. She was 20 or 21. Knockout. anyways. Cool place, I liked it. Have you met Tim Mcleod or Bob Gross yet? Just curious.
If you are not sure you should do it, then don't!

    Never met a Troy.
Never met the others either. At least I am not aware of it.
I did love Marshfield though. Great place.

I did not think about it really before hand, but I was impressed with the cleanliness and organization of the place.
Driving in the snow is as it is. Slippery, even in a heavy vehicle.
I drove home to PA in heavier snow. I slowed down to 40 MPH to be safe in my little Volvo 850 wagon. Had I been in an 18 wheeler with my experience I would have pulled over and waited.
Wait until it is safe. That is the Roehl Way. I drank that Kool Aid way before I ever heard of Roehl Transport. I am looking forward to seeing my family on my off days. Staying safe is a big part of that.

    respects and
Happy Holidays/Merry Christmas/ GOD bless us all...

I loved that episode, I believe the hound dogs name was Rip. No wonder so many people drive with their dogs, if they should happen to not make it to their destination here on earth, at last they will get to the right place after.

My fave used to be "To Serve Man", then "Eye of the Beholder", but I think this is my fave now. Maybe when I get going OTR, I'll start collecting the DVDs (and Monty Python's Flying Circus) for viewing.

I will miss cats and dogs. Only time I've been without was when I was in college. Even had my aunt's dog around when I was in grad school.
