    Default A percentage question

Do you think pulling flatbed, local work, starting out making 30% of what the load pays, is a good rate? I do have the option to pull long hauls. It's up to me really.
I know most dump truck outfits and other places generally start out at 24%-27%, so this is much better than what I've personally seen so far, but how much better really is it?
The guy claims I'll make around $700.00-$800.00/week and thats home every night, and no weekends. Sound about right?

It's a percentage ,so one would need to know what the loads are hauled for on average to say if 30% is good or not .

That's the gamble you take 30% is a good rate. But 30% of a little bit= a very little bit.

We got % running Steelcase out of Grand Rapids, Mi. The owner was up front & hone$t about the rate$ paid for the load$. The back hauls were not so good, you really had to watch the "brokers" and check what was actually paid.
