Interesting responses. As far as I am concerned the Uturn2001 fellow is the only one who had the correct response.

Suggest you fellows start reading up on accidents and big rigs. The Why's, The Damages, The Deaths and Life ThereAfter, especially your life and the deceased famillies life. This includes you SuperTruckers.......

Perhaps that Qualcomm/Cell Phone message won't be so important afterall. Always time to read QC's and Text Messages while bored in a truck stop, on/off ramp, rest area or wherever u can park ur land ship these days.

My CoDriver has no job now, I nailed his ass to the wall. Case Closed..Safety was my friend.

    Pretty neat huh....

I am a retired US Navy Chief (Master Chief, E-9, QuarterMaster) and drive for what DOT considers the worst trucking company on the road. Name withheld for reason, but I am sure you will figure it out....

    My final question.......

What to hell is so important to you that you have to pickup a qualcomm unit or answer your cell phone while underway?????

Do you sip coffee while "UNDER WAY" do ever take a bite of something to eat while "UNDERWAY" even a candy bar ...Do you listen to the CB ,and reach for the Mic and talk into the MIC while "UNDER WAY" ...do you listen to the RADIO while "UNDER WAY"...if you answered yes to any of these HYPOCRICY is now floating your boat Captain ...Because these all require you to devote attention away from driving and to the non driving activity ...And for some simply listening to radio is a considerable distraction ,and for some using the Qualcom is no harder than reaching for the Cb and chatting into the MIC while driving .

Wow!! deja vu?? Time warp?? Millenial correction?? Us "supertruckers" want to know???

Chief: To start.... are you referring to our "rating" on this board that is based on the number of our posts? Or do just think we have an attitude?

Man.... I just LOVE being lectured by a 2* post wonder.... don't y'all?? Here's your SIGN, Chief!! [Kick me! I don't know nuthin' about message board protocol! -- Just learned how to use a computer yesterday!]

But, to answer your last question.....

You take off on a 600 mile trip after being dispatched. You don't stop for breaks OR ANSWER YOUR QC. When you get to your destination, you check the QC and find out the load has been CANCELLED!!

    Get your resume ready!

Oh, and BTW..... you ASKED for advice! You GOT info and advice from those who've done it. Your APPRECIATION is noted.

Right answer??? To a question of PERSONAL choice and ethics?? You're KIDDING, right???

Next time YOU DON'T KNOW HOW TO MAKE A DECISION FOR YOURSELF.... (not what I'd expect out of a Chief)...... feel welcome to come on here and TEST us again!!

But, be fair and TELL us we're being tested, first!! That way we can Google the RIGHT answer.... and won't just give our OPINIONS.
Remember... friends are few and far between.

Forget about eating soup. Try making a grilled cheese by yourself.
Don't trust anybody. Especially that guy in the mirror.

Hey guy's since you talking about distractions and rollovers and stuff. Let me just say to please secure anything that is loose in your truck from moving. I was in a rollover over a week ago. I was doing 55mph and seatbelted in.
When I was at the tow yard the next day the tow owner told me he had found my TV 75 feet from the truck. Also the mic from the CB came down and hit my left hand and misc stuff hit me in the face. If your in your truck right now. Take a good look at everything to see what's going to hit you.

Sorry, I just had to chime in....
