What I don't get is that you get paid the same weather your independent or your with a company.

Not really if the company has bid on some higher paying contracts

The company contracts are the reason for getting with a company. My best one was 3800 miles at around $2.40 per mile. You will never find anything remotely close to that as an independent.

Heres a trick you can do to get a lil more money.Buy tires repair truck dont refuel then go back and sell tires. You wont sell them for same price but it will be close that will bring your value up on the truck then sell.I buy tires for $2250 and they resell for $1995 then with a 1000 loan you will have cose to 3000 for next truck.Thats how i bought the 96 international only thing sucks with it is everytime i do the 50000 pounds cargo i got busted three times in a row for being overweight at 300 a pop

Thats easy to fix, don't haul overweight, one of the keys to making more money in this game is to get your Driver Rating up and every time you get a ticket you lose DR,so don't go over 5mph the speed limit and don't go over 10fp's and never haul overweight and I gurantee you will never get a ticket.
