Default Wreck in WV - 11/9/07

Just saw on the local news that there was a hazmat tanker wreck this morning around 4am on I-68, around mile marker 14. They have the entire interstate shut down and have evacuated a number of homes.

If you've ran across I-68, you know where it happened. Coming west, at the bottom of the mountain with the 50mph truck limit, the wreck happened at the bottom of the mountain, in the last turn before crossing the lake. Hell, that's where all of the trucks wreck.

Anyway, don't plan on using I-68 on that side probably until late today.

Oh - and yes, the driver was killed as well.

The 5 O'clock news in Pittsburgh had something about that. I missed some of it but they will re-air it 11.

Found it. Here is a link with the story and video:

I guess they have it re-opened now. I'm glad I wasn't running today as I-68 is one of our major routes - our terminal is less than 30 miles from where the accident occurred.

    Anyway, here's the news story:

Those are some pretty horrendous pics of the truck & trailer !!

It's sad that the driver died..but those pics tell the story of why he died!
