Default NJ Who to look at?

I live in NJ and want to do OTR Dry Van I think. This is the list of companies I pulled up under my state. For a newbie driver like myself, any thoughts of who to stay away from and who I should start looking at. I have noticed alot of Schneider trucks in my area when I am on the road.

And if you have time, note why I should look/stayaway from the company.

    GL with this!

I would honestly rather have a limb chopped off than run dedicated in NJ.

Other than that they are all crap

Who said anything about running in NJ. They have alot of start and end point dedicated in NJ. He would get alot of hometime. Might run NJ to OH and back all week but would be home more.
As for running dedicated in NJ, what a bunch of whimps. NJ is easy to drive in, just got to have good directions.

I go by Jevic's terminal all the time, they have a billboard out front that says they are hiring new drivers, starting salary $53,000 to $80,000.
If you can't explain to a 5 year old what you're doing, than you don't know what you're doing.

All those truckload dry freight companies claim to pay big numbers to start. All BS.

What they forget to tell you is it is 70 hours a week and if you are lucky and get good runs you might make $53,000. That works out to about $14 an hour straight with no overtime.

I would say with any company who pays by the mile or by the load, whatever they claim your yearly income is going to be, cut it in half

And you are still going to end up working 70 hours

[quote="Molson"]I live in NJ and want to do OTR Dry Van I think.

You need to to make up your mind. OTR or run local. I'm running Vineland NJ to Bethany CT and home every night and Gross for 5 days $850, 6 days $1,050. $.40 cpm and hourly pay (wait time)It's alot of hours. But it works for me.
Then you look at companys you want the ones that pay PC miles.
Where in NJ are you? and how long have you had your CDL ?

I am out of medford, nj and do not have my cdl yet. Through the research, it seems better to wait until your ready to drive to get your cdl. I am still stashing cash away at my current job and getting things in order.
