Default Check out the new (possible) job.

Got a call today to go in on Tuesday for interview & roadtest..
    Check out the info.

A dedicated local drop & hook account. It's typically a 12 hour day. Paid by the hour. Overtime after 8 hours. Benefits after 30 days. I'm also paid .48cpm to drive TO and FROM work in my personal vehicle.

Here's what it'll all look like.

    $16.32/hour straight time x 8 hours = $130.96 (per day)
    $24.48/hour OT pay x 4 hours = $97.92 (per day)
0.48cpm x 86 miles per day in my personal vehicle = $41.28 (per day)

Comes out to be $270.16 per day. $1350.80 per week. $70,241.60 per year.

Sounds damn sweet. Wish me luck. If theres ever a time I dont wanna grind or miss a gear, it's gonna be the day I go for this job.

Oh yeah, once again proven that you can get a good deal without going to CDL SCHOOL.

Sounds like a good deal. I never went to school and got a good job too. It's all about who will give you that first break to get on your feet. I owe mine to a man named Dale. He took me out and showed me the ropes.

Sounds good....too good to be true.
Me thinks, there is a major screwing to come if you take this job.
    But good luck anyway.

I just don't understand why people just can't be happy for others, and let the envy/jealousy go??? I mean c'mon..... hell, I make GREAT money, full bennys, home everynight, and I actually had to post pay stubs for people to believe good jobs DO exist!!! Fact is, if drivers have a crappy gig, and their stuck in a rut, not hungry enough to find better food, they deserve to be exactly where they are!!! HOLLA!!!

    JIMBPARD

What it sounds like to me is that you found YOUR diamond in the ruff!!! CONGRATS!!! Everything you posted seems on the up and up to me.... and VERY normal of that "good" job everyone searches for! I say get it, play a few hands, see what the dealer gives you, and go from there! Oh, and if and when you are satisfied, PLEASE post an update just to prove to these washed up drivers that times HAVE changed and there ARE jobs that pay you what your worth..... 8)

That's a possibilty of a screwing , But when you go to work for most Mega carriers there is not a possibilty of a screwing , but a certainty , And the only possibilty if they will be entle enough to use a lubricant in the deal.

Typical dweller mentality. All he knows is what he hears on the CB and at the lunch counter. These types hop from job to job never figuring out that the glossy recruiting rags are a bunch of lies.

Now that is funny, and so true.

Jimbpard, good luck, it sounds like you found a great job.

When a dealer asks what I'm looking for, I respond with "Anything but a Ford and nothing Foreign."

I personally dont think the looks of fords are all that bad, but I've never driven one I liked, and I've drove a few.

I'll take chevy over anything anyday.

I guess unkut2003 and Part Time Dweller didnt see that. Lack of comprhension , education and ignorance will do that to ya everytime.

$16.32 an hour with time and a half after 40 is not bad money for a young guy just starting, but I wouldn't put it in the "too good to be true" class.

Best of luck Jimbpard. You are doing it right. Don't let jealous dwellers put you down.
