    Default shoot

today I turned left after the light turned red and got a ticket. I start school on monday I had 0 points no ticket in 13 years. I called the company that I will be driving for and told them what happened. They already ran my mvr and said it was ok ( they have seen alot worst then that) I know that I have to be very careful. Am I looking at this worst then what it really is or am I already walking a fine line before I even get started

Just don't collect any more safe driving awards in the next 3 years and you have nothing to worry about.

When it comes to moving violations, so long as they are not real serious ones like 15 over, etc, it is like baseball. 1 strike and you are OK, 2 strikes and you had better start paying real close attention to the next pitch(s). 3 strikes and you are out.
Finding the right trucking company is like finding the right person to marry. I really comes down to finding one whose BS you can put up with and who can put up wih yours.

You WILL have your CDL suspended for 60 days. You will lose 2 months of pay, then you can go back to driving and STILL have to be real carefull.

I'm not SURE, but I THINK you will still be able to drive your P.O.V., as long as you have not exceeded the 12 points or whatever your state requires.

But, YES.... you are looking at it worse than need be. The conviction is not even on your record yet.... why TELL anyone about it? Your company will only pull your MVR about once or twice a year AFTER you are employed. By then.... if you have a good record with them, they will not be too concerned.

Never, Never, NEVER.... volunteer information that the company can't get access to on their own!!!

ALSO..... got to court on this violation, and TRY (maybe with the help of a lawyer or public defender) to get it reduced to a nonmoving violation. Since you didn't HAVE your CDL yet at the time, it CAN be reduced. If so, it won't even matter!

As a professional driver, you must ALWAYS try to fight or reduce a ticket, if you can. And did I say NEVER volunteer info that you don't HAVE to (without lying)????

Accutaly the cop told me to go to the procacutor and explain that I am trying to get my CDL. He said he would write on the back of the ticket that he submits to his office that I was cooporative, profesional, and sorry for the mistake. He thinks I can get it reduced to a non moving violation charge.....we will see.

Do you know how to "grovel" in a professional manner without being "whiny"?

    Seriously....it works 8)
Forrest Gump was right....and some people literally strive to prove it.....everyday. Strive not to be one of "them".... And "lemmings" are a dime a dozen!

Remember: The "truth WILL set you free"! If it doesn't "set you free"....."it will trap you in the cesspool of your own design".

They lost my original "avatar"....oh well.

Newbie here , just got my cdl through CDL training of Peoria IL. I was told by two instructors that any offense during my training was the trainers responsibility. I found this hard to believe but just thought that I would pass it on for your thoughts.
