maybe somone can answer this for me. I was working for Central Refrigeration and it seems that us newbies sometimes gets ourselves in a bind. I sure did....

I have three things that I feel shouldn't be on my dac, but they are,

I ran over someone's yard backing out of a tight spot, and since my trainer wouldn't let me do the backing I had a hard time in figuring out what to do in the situation, the owner called central complained, I have gone back several times and asked the person if they needed any help in taking care of the yard, they have informed me there is no damage and thanked me for asking, well that is on my dac as a preventable accident/incident with damaged equipment/property

the second one is where I was backing up and had to get very close to a curb and I ended up curbing the tire which resulted in having someone come out and fix the tire, that is on there as a non-preventable accident

the third is where someone crossed in to my lane and hit my mirror while going down the road they have it as a non-preventable accident sideswipe merging

then what gets me most of all is that they have me a a late pick up/delivery, hmm if you get loads late because the dispatcher gives you a load late you can't help it and they know this you have to have it all documented on your quall comm then They were giving me team miles when I wasn't a team any longer, boy did that hurt me.

I know if a company doesn't look at my dac but my mvr only I can get a job, but if they look at both they don't want to touch me

I also have two tickets I recieved recently one in the truck and one in my personal car. (I know these two items were not needed at all)

Any suggestions would be greatly helpful in how to fix this and where to look for work. I have been off work for two weeks and need to get back on the road.

If you are terminated for 'service failures' it may show up on your DAC as

    'ineligible for rehire'

..Which is not a good reference

It is totally unfair that a company can get your DAC report within 24-48 hours, if it even takes that long, but a driver get's screwed around when they request their own DAC report.

WTF does it take to get my own DAC report?

Does anyone know of a good, cheap, site where a driver can order it?

And forget that Untitled Page site...it just transfer you to this site : Motor Vehicle Records Checks

And it so confusing, you can't just order your DAC report.

This is total BS. There are laws that protect people's credit report, there should be some laws protecting drivers' right to obtain their own DAC report. We, as drivers, should be able to obtain our own DAC report as quick as the companies do.

That's all I want. Just some fairness in retrieving the report. Because we all know that fighting them is next to impossible.
Just wondering if you ever did get your DAC report and how long did it take?

DAC relies on the percentages of uneducated people driving trucks as a way of enforcing a industry.

    Wake up people.

For somebody that joined this forum over 2 and a half years ago, you picked a hell of a reply for your first post.

Now consider, if a company will not divulge anything of substance on a telephone call - why in tarnation would ANYONE think they are going to put it in WRITING.
Whether there is legal risk or not is determined only by whether you can get the company you're applying with to be open about who they spoke to at your old company, and that's only IF the prospective company will give you a reason you're not hired. Most times, as has already been pointed out, you're not going to get a real reason you've been turned down for the job. And those phone calls to old employers? They're not being recorded, so the old employer can tell the prospective one anything they want, whether they can prove it or not and you'll never be the wiser. So, you won't have any opportunity to sue the old employer for defamation or libel. The new company isn't going to tell you that you got a bad rap from your ex-employer because that would mean someone from their company would have to come in for a court case and testify to what they'd been told on the phone. It wastes THEIR time and puts them in a bad light with the old company, which could be counter-productive business-wise. So, you get nothing -- no reply, no reason.... zip.

Just because someone makes a law doesn't mean that people will obey it, or even the spirit of it. Age discrimination in hiring is illegal, but is the most frequently ignored law on the books. It may as well not even exist, for all companies care. But, try to prove it and you'll be throwing good money away needlessly.

Ouch! I have heard bad things about Central but never worked for them. U do have some things and companies are getting tighter with their hiring. Good luck with your endeavors. Don't know where u are located- I know of a couple of companies- my email should be listed- somewhere in here! I am a rookie here- not to the road.

Just ask the company you applied to for a copy or have them tall you what is on it..I have found many recruiters will take a minute to give you that info.
Dac operates in a loophole of the law, it claims to be a credit reporting agency and is governed by the same laws. If anything is on there that you do not like, just dispute it- if the company wants to bother with proving the info, then so be it, if not-its gone! Just be selective as to what you dispute so you do not have helpful things deleted like that you worked for xyz company atall...
