    Default Expunging An Old Record

Anybody know anything about expunging an old DUI ( CA. ) Will they drop off your record after so many years ? It's thirty years and I herd it can be done. And I realise that old of an offence won't really be a problem I'd just like to see it go away. I expect a beating on this one but if anyone really knows I'd appreciate it. Thanks

I have a 35 year old conviction for purchasing a stolen car. the judge withheld adjudication of guilt but when I went to get a gun permit, they said it was on my record, they said to contact the police department that arrested me and they could take it off..I havent contacted them yet, but hopefully they will do it. yours may be a problem if you want to go to Canada, I dont think you will catch much flak from us if you only did it once and learned your lesson, its the 3 and 4 time offenders that we have a problem with.

I've been through Canada since then ( not as a truck driver though ) and had no problem. This was in the mid 70's

My son in law is an atty. He says you should go through the system and have it expunged. Expungment is usually granted when your old record is getting in the way of employment.
Some states (Georgia) do not have an expungment procedure. Do not wait for it to "go away". Have it expunged.

    Try this website:

Even though you have been through Canada since your conviction it could still come up and make it difficult to get into Canada again.

    Good Luck.

I here that once you get your CDL it would be 55 years before you could get anything removed. That would make me a 112 years old so I'll take care of it now. And thanks to everyone for there advice.
