    is it as easy to get these after a year of OTR experience as everyone makes it seem?

    3 months is all most dedicated jobs at jb require

    It all depends on where you live, really. Around here, 10 years apparently isn't enough to make it easy. From what I hear in other places, it seems unusually hard around here. Probably because we have so many truck drivers. Every weekend, you can drive all over town and see trucks parked everywhere. Lots of guys who would like to be home more often to compete with.

    After about a year and a half I asked for and got a regional run. I'm nearly always home twice a week and every weekend. But it all depends on luck. Not all companies can do that.

    I got local dedicated right out of school and my company hires drivers that way, just got two more in the last four months but one quit to go LTL with UPS Freight. I imagine it depends on where you are and how many drivers are looking.
