Default Any flatbed companies that will hire me?

I just got my cdl from TDI and am finding out that not many companies want to hire me because of one careless ticket a year and a half ago. I have nothing on my driving record for 13 years before that. Good employement, no drugs, nothing. I am starting with TransAm next week, but I really wanted to drive flatbeds and be home weekends. I live in central Florida. Does anyone know of any flatbed companies that might hire me with my careless ticket and lack of experience?

depends on what the ticket was for careless and truck driving should never be in the same sentence (even though i just did it). most major companies want a clean MVR for 3yrs. some even ask for 5yrs
    Just getting started

You could call Maverick to check into the specialized division, they may hire in your area. I don't believe that you would fall within the flatbed hiring area, however.

As for the ticket, I thought that they would allow for one moving violation, but I could be wrong. Also, I guess it could depend upon what your ticket was for? You could call a recruiter to get your questions answered.

Maybe also try Boyd Bros. or McElroy. They may hire from central FL.

    Good luck.

I know that Maverick's policy for experienced drivers is no preventable accidents for 1 year. I'm not sure how it would be for student drivers. It's always worth a call ! You never know until you ask.

The ticket was for careless driving. Which is a serious violation. Most companies want O serious violations in the past 3 years. As a new driver someone at that school should have given you a heads up on this. Best of Luck to you.

You may either need to pull a van around until that drops off your record or keep knocking on doors until you find a carrier. The problem is that you don't have any experience. Insurance companies are getting more strict in who they will approve. Sometimes only one violation can knock you out, depending on the seriousness of the offence.

    Default Thanks!

Thank you all for the great info. Guess I'll ride with TransAm until the careless drops off my MVR and then move on.
