    Default flatbed in residential areas?

    hi all

are there permits for driving a tractor+48' fatbed in residential areas where it is clearly marked NO TRUCKS.
for delivery of specialty wood items made for homes in new and old housing subdivisions i run from Ontario,Canada to Ohio, Michigan,
    border states

an estimate weight of the load(multiple pieces) probably no more than
    10 000 lbs off-loaded via forklift

is the police forgiving in this situations?

    ty all

As long as you have the bill of lading (and address) and you're going to drop at an active jobsite, there's not much they can say as long as you go in and out...those signs are mainly to keep trucks from driving "thru" certain areas to get to their destinations or using their streets for shortcuts.

Yes, I agree with the above. I was told by police in New Hampshire that you can't use a street as a "Thru street" but if you have a reason to be there it's ok as long as you have shipping papers.

You really have to watch it also. I brought my truck over a friends house and really made a mess of the road from all the branches I knocked over with my stacks.

I delivered a new John Deere 310 loader/ hoe to a cemetery one day. The street was posted no trucks......parcel delivery only. As I was proceeding up the street, a cop raced up behind me and pulled me over. He asked if I missed the sign. I replied no sir, I have to deliver this parcel He said there is no constuction going on up this road. When I informed him the machine was going to the cemetery, he just stood there a bit and said Oh, I suppose they would use one of these wouldn't they.
