Default CB Radio Tuning stops in IN or IL

Hi,

I just recently purchased a Cobra CB Radio and need to get it tuned. I will be traveling from Carbondale, Illinois taking 57N to I-70 E heading through Indiana to get to Dayton, Ohio. I was curious as to if any of you know of place on those two Interstates where i can stop and get my CB tuned.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Forum looks great by the way. I have been lurking on the site for a while now and love it.

(Sorry I am posting this again, i don't know if its in the right topic so i just posted in both)

There are several places in Effingham.

You have one at the Petro at exit 159. There is another one at the 159 though I am not sure where exactly. The guy monitors channel 2.

What do they do when they tune it? And, if I use the trucks antana and switch to a new truck do you need to retune it?

In most cases they screw the radio up.

I've found very few radios, out of the box, that needs a "peak and tune". Plus very few of the guy/gals have the equipment required to properly tune a radio.

As just one example. Take the case of tuning a set of twin antennas. How many of these guys/gals tune one antenna at a time using a dummy load for the missing antenna?
