    Default 18 speed trans

    I am taking a new a job for a O/O and they have 18 speed transmissions in their trucks. I am used to 10,and 13 speeds. How do you shift these ?

    Same pattern as a 13. Only difference is you can split the lower side in addition to the high side.

    It takes a while to remember what gear you are in and which side of the gear you should be in to down shift but you will get it with time.

    You can drive the 18 just like the 13. No need to split everything on the bottom half unless you are really heavy. I typically ran the bottom half in low (grey switch pulled back)

    I had always gotten 18 speeds in all of my trucks but was using it so much I switched to a 13 in my new ride.
