Default Woohooo - Got my first paycheck today!

Of course, it was only about $40, for the mileage on my personal vehicle while attending orientation, but it's sure nice to see some viable evidence of returning to productivity after being unemployed since last June!

Talked to my trainer driver last night. He's on his way back to Knoxville from Texas with another trainee, and depending on when he rolls into town, we'll start out Monday or Tuesday after he takes a couple of days off with his family. I'm pretty excited - Everybody, wish me luck!

Best of luck to you! You will probably get as much sleep this weekend as you did as a kid on Christmas Eve!

If all it takes is a $40 paycheck to make you this happy, come drive for me. I'll double it.

Starts a bit slow: 14cpm for the four weeks I'll be out with the trainer. But after the month I'll be a first-seat driver and the pay goes to 30cpm. At 6 months, that increases to 32, then 33 after a full year. Additional cent per mile increase every year thereafter.

I've seen better offers and I've also seen worse, but once I get assigned my own truck I'll be making more than enough to meet our needs, and Star has a great reputation for getting drivers home regularly. I'm a real homebody by nature, so that was a major consideration for me.
