We know how bad it is with them, but I'm curious if there is just one person who actually likes driving for them?

    Well, not me.
In fact, I went to CRE with 6 other guys. The last one left at CRE is quitting this week.

I've read your stuff. Good thing you got out. A company that big and I bet there is no one that likes them.

No, No, No. I drive a nice brown truck. I'm not going anywhere. I read all this and wonder if there is even ONE person that likes CR England. I know they are terrible and no one should ever go there, but you would think that at least one person would have a good experience.

The only people that do well at England are the few people that you see in their ads. They have to have a couple that can back up their farce. You will notice though that they don't use the same people for any length of time. Because even they figure it out after a while.

England has always been one of the lower paying companies out there, but 20-30 years ago when all 3 sons was running it, they where a good place to work. They started going down hill when one of the brothers left to open pride transportation. They ran into financial problems and the church bailed them out with a loan and terms of when someone in the church needed a job they would send them to England. So they started getting people who knew nothing about trucking and the sons hardly ever checked on the day to day operations. With that all the experienced dispatchers and operations people started leaving. Whats happening there today is just a matter of greed, pray on the person has no job, close to being broke and dangle a job and the opportunity to make some cash.

I had an Uncle in law recommend CRE to me back when I was deciding where to start out at.

He worked for them 30 years ago and had no idea their reputation now.

I have a cousin who worked for them 20 years ago and he said it was a whole different company back then.

All it takes, is a new management staff to change.(not necessarily CRE) They can either stay the same, or go better, or go worse.

    I did, I did.

I had one back into next to me at a dock one time and I still had all the parts on my truck where they belonged. :P
Finding the right trucking company is like finding the right person to marry. I really comes down to finding one whose BS you can put up with and who can put up wih yours.

I do hire quite a few CRE drivers. However during the course of the week when talking to the 100s of drivers at all companies, I do occasionally run into a CRE driver who is happy and wouldnt think of changing. Most of the time they are the drivers who have been there longer than a year.

Do you know if the happy ones are Company drivers, O/O's, or L/O's?

I would say mostly company drivers. I do find that drivers do not like their lease program. Ive probably run into a few O/Os that were doing ok there. I by all means am not trying to sell people on CRE. I would say out of all the companies out there, those are the easiest hires I run into. Im just saying all companies have drivers that are doing well for the most part. If they didnt, they would fail.
The biggest complaint I here about CRE is not lack of miles or how they are treated, its usually just the low pay per mile.

I figured as much.....a friend of the family drove for CRE as a company driver about 5 years ago. He was telling me how all the L/O's and O/O's would get priority on loads and company drivers would get the leftovers.

he went on to say how he would be dispatched to pick up a load and just before arriving, or on one occasion after arriving, he'd get a message that the load was reassigned to another driver (either O/O or L/O).

Needless to say, he left them and went on to greener pastures and is a happy camper now.

Could you please back that up That the Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints Bailed them out? And if so who did it? That I would like to see.
You don't have to like it you just have to do it!

I don't know what the back story is on that matter, even if there really is a back story, or if this is just an Urban Legend!! I do know that LDS does invest in different companies, and it is very active in real estate investment as well.

I'm no fan of The Mormon Church; in point of fact, I am staunchly opposed to their beliefs. I'm sure as Hell no fan of CR England, either. Having said that, we all live under the same Constitution, and if the LDS Church saw an investment opportunity in a company or a corporation, especially one that is directed by Mormons, then there are no laws to stop them, it seems reasonable enough that they would pursue it.
