Default So long CR England, Hello JB Hunt?

Called a recruiter for JB Hunt today. They have me set up to do a dedicated run, 2400 miles a week, $.38cpm.

I returned my truck to an England yard in Dayton. Before I did I had them fax me paperwork stating I would NOT get abandonment on my DAC.

SO...thoughts on a JB dedicated run?

Make double and triple sure that JB Hunt knows you have that run!! When I drove for them, I hired on specifically for a dedicated run, and low and behold, it was gone by the time I got out of orientation. At which point they said they'd put me in OTR fleet until another one dedicated run appeared. I refused - told them they need to put me in a dedicated run like the one I was told I'd get or another one similar or I don't drive for them. They found another dedicated run for me, was pretty good one for as long as it lasted.
They lost that run after awhile, and offered to put me on the Wal Mart fleet, which I did, and that was OK too, until they changed the residency requirements so that I was no longer eligible to be on that fleet. Then I was put on their beer fleet. I hated that one. It was at that point I told them goodbye. The whole point of a dedicated run is to stay on it! I got tired of having to switch runs due to no fault of my own.

I would tell you what I think about JB, but I'm disgruntal.

Talk with sheepdancer.....he will fulfil your dreams.
Deja moo. It's when you feel you have heard this BS before.

Too late for that....he already talked to another recruiter.

Tell me what dedicated run he put you on. 38cpm and 2400 miles per week sounds like the PPG run. If it is, you will like it. Pretty consistant freight. Almost all drop and hook. Home every other weekend for 72 hours.

I dont know too much about that account, I have only put one driver on it. However he likes it. Flatbed with no tarping....he told me occasionally you will get random backhaul flatbed freight that might require tarping. I wish I could tell you more about it. As a recruiter, I learn about things beyond whats on the job description by talking to the drivers ive put on the job. The best I can do is tell you that my one driver ive hired for that job likes the job.. ... I hope that helps some.

Decided to go OTR. Anyone have experience with JB OTR?

Hometime seems way better than CRE.

Pass the physical with the emphasis on blood pressure, heart rate during exercise and the hair samples taken for drug testing. Then you can look forward to 14 days out, then 3 days for yourself. Be sure to ask when you are there if a dedicated account is available to you. During your stay at orientation more than likely something will open. The worst they can say is no. Good luck to you...

I worked OTR for JB Hunt back in late 2002 to 2003 based from Nashville. It was my first OTR job and I had a good experience overall in spite of being fired. I had 3 lane change complaints and 2 toll booth speeding incidents within about 2 months. That being said, I was still offered to keep my job (by the COO Steve Harper) if I went with a trainer for a few weeks.

Freight was always pretty good. I was never concerned about sitting for a few hours unless I wanted to get home. I always attributed sitting when heading home as being part of finding the right load to head the right direction. I sat once in Columbus from Fri noon until Monday morning because my Qualcomm would not receive. Whenever I called weekend dispatch, they failed to tell me if they knew about it.

I helped unload a couple loads. Never fully unloaded a trailer. I never had to run all night to get somewhere. I always had plenty of time to get to a delivery except for maybe a couple loads. I just got there as soon as I could letting dispatch know my eta.

I used the per diem option when it was offered and took home more making $.025 cpm less.

I never asked about dedicated, but I'm sure there were some good ones in the Nashville area. I didn't really have a home there (it's complicated; don't ask), so I was out working 29 out of 31 days.

Weekend dispatch was horrible. Like that's news. :P

    Any specific questions?

    Moo

If you want to have a more rewarding driving experience in terms of hometime and earnings look into LTL, Tankers and Flatbedding.

Same arrogant, snotty attitude you have always shown, Spencerain!!! Talk about a Class Act???

Was Homer the one who suggested that you go to work for CR England?? Was Homer the one who signed you onto CRE's Fleece Program when everyone here tried to tell you not too???? Is Homer somehow to blame for your troubles???? Is it Homer's fault that you are just too weak to admit that you were wrong??
