    Default Big Thank You

I have not posted here much, but I have been reading everything for about a month and this site is the greatest.

I started very serious about CR England, but then after reading the boards here canned that idea real quick. So just because some of you didn't convince some people on the board, don't think that you did not help someone else. I am sure there are many of us lurkers that take it all in.

Next I wanted a company sponsored program and again decided against that idea. I start class on Monday Jan 29th at a private school, close to where I work now. They offer a night class, so I will be leaving work and attending class from 5:30 to 11:30 every day. The class ends March 2nd, my last day here is Feb 28th, so I should be in orientation somewhere on March 5th.

I have applied to TMC and Roehl, I would really like to work for TMC, but haven't heard anything from them. I have a pre-hire letter from Roehl, but I don't think Roehl will work for me. They require me to park my truck in Gary, In, about a 3 hour drive from my home.

Anyway thanks again and hope to maybe meet some of you on the roads sometime soon.

    Have a great day,

Yes this is a great site!
A buddy of mine who works LTL in Spokane Told me about a few starter companies to try out. He was honest with me and said he didn't know much about the companies, but on his list of suggestions Was CRE. I was actually thinking about working for them until I came to this site, and started talking to drivers.

Between this site, and going out and TALKING to drivers, I have narrowed down the companies I want to work for.

I would get a job skimming pond scum before working for CRE now.

Still waiting for CDL school here. and still talking to drivers while waiting.

Best of luck to you, and keep looking, you should have more that 1 company on your list in-case they don't hire you.

Best of luck to you Hans. TMC and Roehl are two good choices.

The school that I am going to also has a job placement gaurantee. They said considering my driving, criminal and work records I should have 5 or 6 companies wanting me. I am still researching, but I am kind of waiting to see who they will find for me.

There are several local companies that I would like to work for, just have to wait and see if any of them will hire a student grad.

    The locals are:
    Churchill from Detroit
    AD Transport Express
    Four Star Transport
    Have a great day,

I know a couple of drivers who work for Roehl. They like it very much and have great things to say about them. Best of luck to you Mi_Rookie!! Drive safe everyone.

This site helped me a lot when I was looking for a company to go with. Went with May and am very happy.

Iron Mountain is much farther from me than Gary, In. Iron Mountain is almost into Wisconsin (Northwestern Michigan), I live in the Ann Arbor area (Southeastern Michigan).

What about Crete, how do they rank with TMC and Roehl. My ap was declined my TMC

I don't know from personal experience, but I've only heard good things about Crete. If you're leaning towards flatbedding check out Hunt Transportation (a crete division) and Maverick. Again, nothing but good things are being said about them, from what I've seen. Then there's May Trucking

you can read all the information on the board but it still comes down to who you want to work for. every company is not for somebody so along with reading talk to some drivers at truck stops and make sure you get all information before you make such a life changing decision
