Default USX Orientation & Truck Information

I need to verify some information here. Not to discount what the recruiter said, but I want to be sure that I have all my ducks-in-a-row.

I was told that if my Social Security card was laminated and if I did not have a certified abstract of my birth certificate, it was ok, and that they would still take me on anyhow. Can anyone verify this?

Also, I asked my recruiter about if the trucks run either Optimized Idle or APU's and she said no, but sounded unsure of herself. Any input on this would be welcome.

Lastly, does USX supply the cabling to run inverters in the truck. I was told that I can have upto a 1700 watt inverter installed and to bring it with me at orientation. I have a 1200 watt and it is going to require 2/0 or 3/0 cable if I need to supply my own.

If someone could give me some info on this, I would really appreciate it!

Cool! That does help some As far as my card goes, it doesn't say anything about laminating the card. I am glad to know that they do not run APU's or Optimized Idle, it wreaked havoc on my machine for treating my Sleep Apnea.

I think to be safe, I will get my b-certificate abstract resent to me... I cannot find the dang thing because of packing it away from a move.

    Thanks!

They will install in inverter for you for free. Actually, they will not allow you to install it. They will NOT allow a SS card thats been laminated. We had two people in my class that had cards that were laminated and before they could be hired they had to get new cards

I can't confirm this 100% because I never went to their orientation, but in the Orientation Word Document on their website it says "cannot be laminated". They have even underlined this statement in the document.

My thinking would be that it's really not worth the risk to go all the way to orientation only to be sent home because my SS card was laminated. IMO, the simplest thing to do would be to go to your local SS office and request a new one. You can just tell that you lost yours to spare the grilling on "Why did you laminate it, it says not to right on the card??!!". Plus, it's free.

    Good luck.

I saw that in the orientation documentation. On the back of my card it actually does not state that I cannot laminate it! Kinda weird huh?

Get a new social security card. The birth certificate will be needed if you make a trip to Canada.

They do not use APU's/Optimized Idle. They will install the invertor for free, and they provide all of the materials free of charge.
