Default How long will this affect finding a new job?

    Hi everyone,
New to the board. I have a question, any advice is appreciated. I am pretty new to Class A trucks, only 2 years in them. I had an accident in a straight truck right before making the switch to tractors. I'm not positive, but I think the ticket was careless driving. I took the driver improvement course, but I know most companies aren't going to care about that, because that just helps out your auto insurance.

My question is how long realistically is that charge gonna haunt me in this industry? Since then(3/05) I've had a good record, and just racking up as much seat time as I can at my present employer. Thanks

A careless driving WITH an accident is going to be hard to overcome until it is a minimum of 3 years old. If you're driving now, stick with them for another year.

A handful of companies will look at you after 3 years, most require 5+ years.

I appreciate it everyone. I just hope the ship don't sink before the 3 years is up, too long of a boring story to go into.
