" 38k- 105,000 miles" Is that respectable for a rookie year? No tickets, no accidents, and I am alive.

those numbers sound about right.....box trailer i assume
Yep, pulling a box.
That pretty good for a rookie .
Sounds reasonable!!!
What part of the country did you mostly run in??
Congratulations on your first year and your safety record!!
And who do you work for?Originally Posted by Useless
I am employed by Gordon Trucking, and I work only in California. I almost left them for a local job after 6 months because my family situation requires that Im home every night. They said they wanted to keep me because deliveries are never late and I dont lolligag between loads, so now they even get me home every night.
Keep up the good work!
Budlight presents, Real men of genius, today we salute you Mr. Truckerdriver! With your KW's and PB's, turning and burning down the wide open plains.MR. Out running DoT,Volvo's and log book time. Wondering when the day comes when your RDO's are up so you can shower. Rough and tough like John wayne toliet paper. So keep'em turning and burning oh kings of the turnpike, cause we salute you!
California has 55MPH speed limits for big trucks, and that in itself will slow you down, not to mention Ca. traffic!! Since you get home every night, you probably don't get as many miles as you would OTR.
I admire you for having your priorities straight, and I'm glad that Gordon has the insight to see the value of keeping a good, safe, reliable driver.
In any event, Congratulations once again, and keep up the good work!!
Just love it when people post good stuff about Gordon![]()

P.S. sorry about the girlfriend thing, hope that works out for the best.
Sounds about par for the Course.
For comparison I made ~34k and I got my license in mid April of 06. I've only driven 15-20k miles. The rest is a mix of City P&D and being an overpaid lumper with a CDL.

38K for a rookie - nothing to complain about.
38k for an OTR driver with more than 1 yr exp - horrible
38k with any experience working in the NW and home daily - ?
I guess it depends on what your looking for. Home time or money. There is only one person that can answer that question for you.
