    Default Landed A New Job

Just wanted to update everyone on a something. I have landed a job hauling flat bed for E.W. Wylie out of Fargo, ND. Pay is .39 a mile (Practial) Driving a 2006 Mack Vision. Home every other weekend if not every weekend. No forced dispatch. No slip seating. Sounds like a very good deal. Hope everyone out there had a very good holiday season.

    Ok lets see.

    Covenant: 3-6 months experience:

    .38 0-500 mile trip
    .32 501-900 miles
    .28 over 900 miles.

EW Wylie 39 cpm all miles.
Right there you are 1 cpm ahead of the game.

Convenat pay HHG miles which basically comes out to mean for every 1000 real miles you drive you get paid for 800

EW Wylie pays practical which means for every 1000 miles you drive you will end up being paid for about 950-980 of them.

Ok so once again how do you think you will make more money?????

What do you mean. I simply asked how you think you will make more money at Covenant than at Wylie.

Wylie pays more, Wylie pays practical miles which means you get paid for almost every mile you do drive.

BTW: Covenant likes to give the longer runs to teams and likes to keep solo drivers doing city work for several days at a time. By city work I mean taking trailers to get unloaded and reloaded from a terminal or drop yard and then dropping them back at the yard for team drivers.

There are exceptions to this, but I have spoken with too many drivers over the years to beleive the solo driver that runs 3000 miles per week is the rule.

The Wylie recruiter was at our CDL school today He said they pay HHG miles.
He also said they have 30 rigs open and need to be filled, that's alot of change in two weeks.

They sound like a good company!!! I dint like that u have to Wait 6months for health insurance.
