    Default Texas Hazmat Endorsement

Are there any Texas on board who have recently received their Hazmat Endorsement? I started the process back in October. Two months later I have received my two letters, one form the Transportation Security Administration and the other from Texas Department of Public Safety. Once you received these two letters how long was it before your new license came in? Did you have to take any further action? I was told when I applied, I would take the two letter to the DMV and get the new license. The letter says it will be sent with no further action on my part. I'm assuming that it will just come in the mail. Is that true?

I dont have my HAZMAT. I hear that it is a pain in the keester to get it. It could be anywhere from 2 weeks,to 6 months before you get your new copy. I takes them so long to get all the results done.

I have the results. I asking about taking the result to DMV or do they just send you your new license? I am getting conflicting information. The letter DPS sent me leads me to believe they will automatically send me my new license, but that isn't what they told me when I started the process. DMV will open tomorrow.

It took 17 days from taking my prints to Homeland security to approve me, then I got confirmation from the state.
All that is left is to take these two letters from homeland security and the state DOT to the Secretary of state to renew my license.
    Some what painless.

Was that directed at me  or Texans in general :?: I think it's time we had a good ol' fashioned roundup and slap brands on a few Mavericks!

    Terry,
I went to the dmv here in my area of Texas and renewed my cdl with the haz-mat endorsement. Then i went to the fingerprinting place afterwards.I received my new license a few weeks later which was good for 5 years but the haz-mat was only good for 3 months. When i finally got around to going and getting the fingerprinting done i got a letter a few weeks later stating i was not a security risk and then received another license from Austin a few more weeks later with the endorsement with the same 5 year experation date.It was told to me that we cannot get the 6 six year cdl as we did previously do to these new rule changes.....D.J.
