    Default 2 years clean record

I have years of good solid experience driving and a clean record for the past two years. I've just started getting my life back together. I could use some advice and help.

I'm looking to make better pay and get some benefits, but my past becomes an issue. I know there must be other drivers out there with past histories. My question is are there any employers out there that will give you a chance to prove yourself? Helpful suggestions would be appreciated.

What exactly do you mean when you say that your past keeps catching up with you? Driving record? Criminal record? Drug/alcohol abuse? Or what?

Criminal. But not murder or anything violent towards anyone. Stupid stuff. It's all kind of stupid, I know. But it's there.

It's my past, it's not who I am today. My new girl -- knows all about me and she's what counts.

But I want to be able to provide for her.

I'm hoping I'm not a lost cause in this industry because I'm good at this job.

are you talking about felonies or misdemenors. Some companies will still hire if they are a few years old

I'd need a detailed description of your past to be able to help ya.

Offense(s), punishment/time served, when they happened, and how long its been since you've been off probation.

Stupid stuff can range from selling kids dope, to 3 DUI's, to anything else in the world.

Hard time. I know that some places will look at me after 5 years. But are there any places that will look at me today?

Also she's thinking that she could get her CDL and we could team up. But again it's my past that I think will get in the way and I don't want to mess this up for her.

    Fellows, any suggestions?

If a college kid in a teaching program gets even 1 midemeanor during college can get them kicked out of the program.

If you have 2 years and a clean MVR, you might want to try a small company in your area. My little sisters screw-up boyfriend has felonies (he is back in prison) and had several jobs a year, but the locals took him because of his experience and good driving record. He had ev en abandoned a truck and still got hired....(he could talk a man freezing to death into buying a truck load of snow though...)

Thanks KatiD for your support. I work for a small local outfit now. There are no medical benefits or retirement plans. Perhaps that will change.
