Hey guys my name is Shawn. I'm supposed to start training though prime on Dec 1st. i've heard some good stuff and i've heard some bad stuff. but my main thing is i've heard stuff about Prime "forcing drivers" into leaseing thier truck. And i dont quite understand just how prime can do that. So please drivers enlightin me to the nitty gritty of Prime.

What Prime will do is show you a bunch of fuzzy math and big "what ifs" as if they will happen to demonstrate to you how much more money you will make if you lease a truck instead of remaining a company driver. You will hear this from recruiters, your trainer who will most likely be a lease operator, your dispatcher, etc.

Another problem with Prime is thier training program. From practically day one you will be running as a team with your "trainer". Yeah you will be paid a bit more than what other companies offer in training pay, but you will be working your butt off to get it, and their so called training program lasts a lot longer than other companies do, including time you will spend attending CDL school before hiring on and going out with a trainer.
Finding the right trucking company is like finding the right person to marry. I really comes down to finding one whose BS you can put up with and who can put up wih yours.

    Default Plan B

If Prime is your Plan A, go to Plan B. Do an archives search here, at layover.com, newbiedriver.com. ooida.com, and safersys.org. You'll get plenty of info about Prime. BOL
