well, since Werner is the only company that wants to work with me that is where I am headed on Monday. This is the second time around and my choices were very limited, see crst diaries for the rest of the story if interested.

I will be at the Omaha terminal, and was told and read on this board that it is correct, that I get to list three truck and if 1st choice is available that's what I get. problem is the only truck I have been in is an International with a super 10 trans. There trucks are;

this gives a full description of what they have for sale as used fleet trucks, but the brand and model are the same as what they assign. I know this is like asking to pick your favorite kid, but pluses and minuses would help. I'm shall we say a more mature driver, I like the looks of all of them, aero or classic. my priority is comfort. that international should have been named Teddy as in Teddy Roosevelt, it was one rough riding son of a B....

For room take the Freightliner hands down also will have about the best ride out there. I know I will be drawn and quartered for saying this but to be a pete is overrated in the ride. I drove 379's and I spent more time hitting my head on the roof than in the seat. Also pete has the smallest cab. The KW is simalar to the pete.

That is the type of transmission in the truck....

O-Overdrive
C-Convertible model...means you can pay some $$$ and have it turned into a 13 speed
16- x100 nominal torque range...actually 1650 ft-lbs is the maximum any engine mated to this transmission should put out....WARNING to those who get their engine turned up without taking tranny changes into consideration!
9-Design Level...I think this is just a chronlogical distinction within DANA but I have never received a firm answer on that one

09-Speeds
A-Gear ratio set
T2-Top 2 automated...when in 8th it shifts like an automatic between 8Lo and 8Hi

I'd back up Ironeagle on this one. Looking at the specs of each one they are all much of a muchness..All air ride, same trans, same motor etc etc etc...but judging by the pic the Freightliner has more headroom and living space. That would be my pick.

I disagree about Freightliners riding better than KW's, as I've driven both. THere is more room though, hands down.

Just a different opinion. I'd get a W900 (KW)since company is paying the fuel, because, ya know, its a double-ya nine :wink:

Of course, they'd prolly stick ya with a T600 then, according to Murphy's law. :P

I had a gorgeous KW for awhile, it had a "super ten" that I really did not like. When an "anteater" showed up with a nine speed {and straight pipes} I grabbed it, dirt and all. Finally a "Condo" with a 13 speed came in and that was real nice
