    Default Acronyms

    Is there a list anywhere that defines all the acronyms used in these forums... it would be alot easier for a new person to understand what is being said/answered/discussed if we knew what some of these are...

    examples of the top of my head are,

    TE
    STL
    DAC

    Many of the abreviations used are standard ones used on the net...

    For example:
    BOL= Best of luck

    The less than standard ones:

    B/L = Bill of Lading
    TL= Truck Load
    LTL= Less than truck load
    BT= Bob tail
    STL=Basically a dispatcher

    DAC/USIS is not really an abbreviation. It is a company that compiles background information for and from employers about potential and former employees. It is mostly used by the trucking industry but others also use it.
    Finding the right trucking company is like finding the right person to marry. I really comes down to finding one whose BS you can put up with and who can put up wih yours.

    actually USIS stands for United States Investigative Services, but damned if I know what DAC stands for. I have a couple of coworkers who used to work for usis/dac so I'm asking one of them to find out.

    EDIT: the mystery is solved! "Used to stand for drive a check but we dropped that and just started calling it dac."
