Orientation is pretty basic; paper work, physical, drug test, more paper work lol. You'll take a road test; mine consisted of a pre trip, city driving, highway driving, and backing.

You'll have several people come in and talk to you. They'll go over logs, P&P, benefits etc... You'll also enroll for benefits.

You won't find until the third day if you get to go out with a trainer. In my orientation class they sent 6 people home on the third day.

If you have a trainer half as good as the one I had you'll be in good shape. Mine was a firm believer that a person can't be trained if the trainer is in the sleeper sleeping. We never ran as a team. While I was driving he was in the jump seat the entire time.

I've only been with the company a short while and so far I don't have any complaints. I'm sure as more people read you're post you're going to get several people who think USX is the worse company you could choose (most of them have never driven for us) and you'll have some that will say the exact opposite. I'm telling you my experience thus far. Give it a shot and see what happens.

I drove for them as a company driver in the late nineties, out of Medway, after they bought Victory, they had good equipment went to autoshifts, made me lazy. My miles always sucked, always had a new dispatcher, I ran over the road and then went regional and make okay money not great. It is a good place to start and cut your teeth. Do they reimburse your tuition?

Interesting posts. I think I will be going to the orientation at Concord and possibly drive for them. I have 15+ years of no accident driving but I also have a lower back injury and am looking for drop & hook and "no touch" loads......

    We'll see!
