    Default Going to Swift Orientation

I'll be starting the Swift Orientation on the 1st of November. I'll be at the Lathrop terminal, what should I expect while I'm there, anyone been to a Swift orientation recently?

Unless they changed things in the last few years:

DOT physical and workwell physical (lots of stupid excercises_
    Drug test
    lots of paperwork
If you do not have a CDL then off to school.

If you have a CDL then
    Road test
    more paperwork
    some quizzes
    several videos

If you are experienced truck assignment

If you need a trainer you will get one assigned. Possible you may have to wait a little bit. If you do and that terminal has local drivers you may be sent out with them while you wait.
Finding the right trucking company is like finding the right person to marry. I really comes down to finding one whose BS you can put up with and who can put up wih yours.

I just finished Orientation with SWIFT 3 weeks ago. Here is what we did

Arrived in Laredo Monday stayed in Hotel Tuesday report to orientation. Sit around until 10 am while everyone who did not attend SWIFT academy does physicals. 10 am drug screen dot med cards copy of licenses. Company test for weather you want to run flat bed or van lift 85 pounds climb ladder etc give you all your materials haz mat response book , haz mat compliance book, and a safety guidelines book. Driver handbook and another book with laminated instructions for sliding tandems / fifth wheel, chaining and local maps to the terminals. watch videos next 2 days with occasional speeches by DM's and mechanics/ safety people. Back ground checks

sit around for 10 hours while they try to find you a mentor.

    HAVE FUN
