Just curious to know what other websites are out there for drivers.
Just curious to know what other websites are out there for drivers.
Go to [url]http://www.google.com[/i] and do a search for "truck driver information"
You'll find forums, websites, etc.
I use Google quite often, thank you. I was hoping to get something better than "Search, n00b." Like maybe some specific websites.
Out of respect for the owner of THIS forum I wouldn't post URL's to the "competition" on HIS/HER site.
If you tell me some details as to what you're looking for I suppose I can search for you when I get the time but seeing as I run an information research business on the side there'll be a small charge for my time.
(See, "n00b" never even crossed my mind)
Competition? Guess I don't follow. As far as doing a search, I'm pretty good at it. Thanks anyway.Originally Posted by dpatt

this is the site their r no others you only need be on this one.
any mention of sites with words or phrases like round, tables, trucks, net will be considered mutiny, and you not only will be labeled a seat hopper but now a forum hopper loyalty, is the standard here.
I'm loyal to CRETE! Don't hijack the thread ken, that's my job![]()

yeah and can't beat that no home time either
A walk in the clouds is like a walk on water
I stayed out 3 weeks this time by choice because the miles were flowing good.Originally Posted by Angel

you can beat 41 cpm theirs the big yellow, abf, ups, fedex, heartland etc......
never lose hope acranger you dont have be otr bound you have no chain set yourself free.
I don't need hometime right now. I will worry about hometime when I am an O/O. I've been in the army for 4 years, sweating in the desert or getting drunk in Asia. Staying out for 3 weeks seems like a vacation. Will that change over time? I'm sure it will. But if the miles are there, give 'em to me.....for now.Originally Posted by Angel
Thanks to all who posted on topic. I am in no way trying to "take business away" from this site, which is what the term "competition" implied. I was just trying to find other good sites and avoid the bad ones. In such cases, recommendations from those with experience is always the best way to go about it, rather than blindly searching. Much like getting a job in the trucking industry.
The problem with most of the trucking sites is that they aren't necesarily Pro Trucker... kind of like the ATA.
There are a lot of ads I've seen for companies that I consider "bad" companies. That's just my opinion- but it makes me think poorly of them.
Sort of like when the Truckin' Bozo does an ad for Prime talking about all that Prime has done for truckers. Yeah- like sent them to the debt collectors...
This is a pretty good forum here. Some of the others have a lot of goody-goody types. They all sit around and hold hands and talk about how compliant they are...
As far as "trucking forums" go.... from my experience, CAD (this one) is about the best for generic information...as in broad spectrum information. Lots of good and well informed people here and many with a significant level of experience who are willing to share their knowledge.
As far as "specialized" forums go.... there is http://www.cfidrivers.com for people interested in CFI and CFI's Drivers, and there is "pumpkindriver.com" for Schneider drivers and those interested. These two sites are policed as heavily if not more than CAD....so there is no nonsense on them.
In my opinion....truck.net had become the "safe-haven" of many undesirables, and trucking haters and bashers, etc...... Not much point of going there... I think they have tried to finally clean some of it up, but I think it may have gone past the point of no return.....
So, me, I tend to limit my activities to CAD and cfidrivers.com.![]()
Forrest Gump was right....and some people literally strive to prove it.....everyday. Strive not to be one of "them".... And "lemmings" are a dime a dozen!
Remember: The "truth WILL set you free"! If it doesn't "set you free"....."it will trap you in the cesspool of your own design".
They lost my original "avatar"....oh well.
