Was messing around on the Truck Paper and Kenworth websites the other day and wondered if KW offers Detroit engines in their trucks? Not that I'm worried about it seeing I'm a staunch Cat man but was just curious. 8)

That's right. And I can't even get parts to fix the engine in my Freightliner from Freightliner anymore. I have to go to Kenworth to get my parts.

Detroit is owned by Freightliner who is owned by Mercedes. I had an OEM guy tell me a year or two ago that they were trying to get rid of the Series 60's and replace them with Mercedes engines. The present problem is that there are too many Series 60's on the market for them to completely shut them down.

GMAN I think it's more like this. Daimler Chrysler owns Freightliner which owns Western Star, Sterling, Mercedes, and Detroit.Originally Posted by GMAN
