    Default Satellite Radio

How many of you guys have Satellite Radio in your truck? Is it worth all the hype? If you do have it, where did you get it from? Did you have to install it all yourself or can you have someone do it for you?

Satellite is awesome- hubby bought it so he doesn't go 'crazy' on the long hauls (bought it at a wal-mart I beileve). He installed it himself- I guess its pretty easy b/c when he is home we put it in our pickup when we go places; its a lot of fun to have

I bought mine (XM) back in 2002 when it was still crazy expensive. Worth every penny.

I bought the 30" antenna that turned out to be completely unecessary. I sold it on eBay for about 65% of what I paid, IIRC. Bugs and all... :P

I have XM and I drive in the Canadian Rockies. I get alot of spots in the mountains where I will not pick up a signal. I am using the little puck antenna placed on the round bar on the mirror. I put it on one side going out and on the other coming home. Does anyone use one of those mushroom antennas and does it work any better for you?

Satellite radio is worth it, IMO. I was ok with the AM/FM radio, but I hated having to hit the scan button constantly as I drove across 3 states...

I chose XM because I am a huge baseball fan and that's where the game's are. Also, my favorite talk radio station, 700WLW here in Cincy, is broadcasted on there and it keep me in touch with all the news, weather and local things going on here at home.

Now, if you really want to open a can of worms, post the question "Which is better, XM or Sirius?"...

No, seriously though, don't post that. Do a search instead. I think 511 people already posted that question...

I won't be without my XM radio...in the truck, or in my personal vehicle. I'm not particularly big on sports... so what sport is where isn't my driving motive for having the satellite radio.

I like it for the music, and the variety....and especially the fact that I don't have to hit the search button on the FM every 30 minutes or so...and that I can listen to the same channel from NY to CA without interruptions.....

I do have friends who let their Sirius service lapse because they weren't happy with the yappy dj's and the over abundance of one comic or the other.
Variety is truly the spice of life!!
Forrest Gump was right....and some people literally strive to prove it.....everyday. Strive not to be one of "them".... And "lemmings" are a dime a dozen!

Remember: The "truth WILL set you free"! If it doesn't "set you free"....."it will trap you in the cesspool of your own design".

They lost my original "avatar"....oh well.

I love my XM. If your gonna lay money out for entertainment on the road, satellite radio is the first place to spend IMO (and these days it isn't expensive. I got my XM "roady" for $30)

Satellite radio is absolutely worth every penny, if you like listening to anything other than the cb, turbo whining, tires, humming...eh, yea, you get the idea.

Tried XM, went to Sirius, couldn't be happier with the product.
If it can't be grown, it's gotta be mined.

I have Sirius.... I love it and rarely ever listen to reg. radio.....I'm a big NFL fan and Howard STern fan. Thats why I chose it. Real simple to put in. I bought the $50 kit about 6 months ago....It's basically plug and play.

I'm reall happy with their product.
