Yes, after 15 weeks to date, my time to go solo is finally so close!I'm leaving for my final trip out with the trainer on the 4th of october! After the 10 day trip, I'll come home and get to move into my own dedicated truck. The training has been great, i've learnt tons in that time, although 17 weeks is about 5 weeks to long, I felt I was ready to go after 12 weeks. The company tacks on 5 weeks of running team at the end of the program(to make a little money off the trainees i think), and I honestly don't know how teams can do it day in and day out. I hate it!!! (Can't get a good sleep running some of the highways out there!) My hats off to everybody who runs team out there! Although I'm a little nervous about my first trip out alone, I know i've been trained well enough to do the job without having any problems that I can't get myself out of. I'm loving this job more and more everytime I jump behind the wheel of that big rig and I can't help but think that this job is the perfect fit for me. Sorry for the boring post, but the excitement and anticipation is getting to me.
Thanks for everybody's help along the way!!
Kris
