    Default I've been delayed again.

As I posted on here before I am taking early retirement from my job and going for a cdl. My first release date was in August. It was moved to Oct 6 and now moved to Dec. 8 so I can spend more time training the new people. It gives me more time to set around and ponder how crazy I might be for giving up all that I am giving. I am making 60000+ with benefits but it is a demanding job ( I know trucking will be to) but I am tired after 29 years. I have been at the same plant but we have had 4 different owners in that 29 years all cutting something and wanting more production. Use to get double time on Sundays and a bonus every year which are both gone. Use to be 6 of us a shift doing what I do now we are cut to 4 and the latest company plan is for operators to learn to do most of the maintance ourselves. Add in buildings that can get at hot as 115 degrees in summer and not much cooler in winter I am ready for a change.
The money is not a big issue as I have a very well funded 401k that will replace most of the salary but I still need the insurance from another job as wife is diabitic and no one will insure her. I think what I will miss the most is the days off. I work 12 hour shifts so it is just 14 days a month minus 6 weeks vacation and 6 personal days so that drops it to only working about 150 days a year but the days you work thats pretty much all you do.
    Well enough rambeling about nothing.
My top 5 companys I am looking at right now are
    Crete
    CFI
    Schineder
    Pam
    USA

Cfi would be above Crete but there website is a little vague about benefits and such and its to early to call and bug the people in the office that cant use me till Janurary.

Schineder would be at top of list if they would give me the dedicated run out of Muskogee. I did get approved for there training but I am going to central vo tech for my cdl.

Well, I will quit now, I am not so uptight after typing all this stuff. Most probaly doesnt belong on here but mods can delete it if they want to.

fishnwiz ... it's not to early to call the company's and have them send you the information about what they have to offer.

From the looks of your list ... you may want to consider that ... CFI runs alot in our area ... you'll see the 'red racer' up and down hwy 69 - they run alot in the lower 48 states and if your planning on going to Central Tech / Drumright ... right now they have a plan where they pay part of your schooling, without having to sign a contract. .... and Crete has a terminal in Bartelsville ... so if staying close to home is something you want to do, you may be able to work out of that location. Just a thought
Live the way you love .... and Love the way you live. .. Trace Adkins .........

Watch your 'Thoughts,' they become words. Watch your 'Words,' they become
actions. Watch your 'Actions,' they become habits. Watch your 'Habits,' they
become character. Watch your 'Character,' for it becomes your Destiny.'
