Default What kind of pay could I expect starting out (intrastate)

After taxes, benefits, etc., about how much would I bring home a month just STARTING out truckdriving? (intrastate)

With the job I'm at now as a streetworker, I bring home about $900 a month. Surely I'd start out a little bit better than that. :?:

I think you could bring home more than $900 a month even if you went with Swift

You might be able to get on with a trash hauler or beverage distributer for around $10-$14 an hour depending on where you live.
Finding the right trucking company is like finding the right person to marry. I really comes down to finding one whose BS you can put up with and who can put up wih yours.

Check with local construction companies and gravel yards. Some may not require any experience to drive a dump truck. Also, have you checked with your state's Dept. of Highways? They pay better than local governments in most cases. All of the above should be in the $10 to $15 per hour range.
