    Default CDL-DOT vision test.

Once you pass your DOT physical and the vision test will you have to take another vision test at the DMV to get your temp. CDL and then your CDL license. I passed my DOT physical vision test but am concerned as I have a lazy eye and I have a harder time with eye machines. This is in Idaho

It is possible that you may wind up taking an vision test at the DMV.

I can not say what ID does but here in IL when I got my CDL learners permit I was close enough for liscence renewal that they had me take a vision test and renew my liscence.

Other people in my class who did not get a renewal just took the written exams at got their permits without a vision test.
Finding the right trucking company is like finding the right person to marry. I really comes down to finding one whose BS you can put up with and who can put up wih yours.

When I first got my temp CDL ... yes I did have to take the vision test at the DMV office. They have to make sure you can see before getting behind that wheel. ..

In New Hampshire you only take a DMV vision test when you renew your license.

I tested 20/15 and 20/30 at my DOT physical. 20/15 and 20/40 when I renewed my eyeglass perscription using his machine without glasses that duplicates my percription. I can see fine. I have trouble with the DMV machines because they are designed for people who do not wear glasses, so I am concerned.

If all else fails get a letter from your eye Doc.stating what vision is and that he/she has been seeeing you for a number of months or years whatever the case may be that should get you by,that way it falls back upon the Doc. cause he tested ya.
