Folks, often times its not the landlord or property owner being unkind.... It often times has to do with ZONING RULES. When I lived in Volusia County, FL...there was a $100.00 per day fine for having a truck parked ANYWHERE that it was not permitted by the zoning rules. The county I live in now is completely asinine about it. I managed to get permission from a local trucking company...and trust me, alittle "grovelling" can go a long way.

I used to park in an RV storage facility that was "secure" until Hurricane Charley destroyed the place....now the trucking company is it. No fence, just a dirt lot... :x but its better than nothing, and legal.

Oh, one other thing....if you run afoul of zoning rules, they can and will tow the truck, impound it, and you will be on the hook literally for paying the fines, the wrecker, and impound fees...... Don't make the mistake of taking this issue lightly.
Forrest Gump was right....and some people literally strive to prove it.....everyday. Strive not to be one of "them".... And "lemmings" are a dime a dozen!

Remember: The "truth WILL set you free"! If it doesn't "set you free"....."it will trap you in the cesspool of your own design".

They lost my original "avatar"....oh well.

Oh, one other tidbit.... one poster mentioned "fuel theft".....think about this: With fuel prices as high as they are.... alot of diesel get stolen....and if it does...out of your tanks....the possibility that the company may backcharge you for the fuel is high....  Not to mention the possibility that some "mouthbreathing miscreant" may put something extra in your fuel tanks.....

I guess I am lucky, I have a 2K sq ft building I was running a Gunsmithing business out of. I have enough room on the side, behind a fence to park a truck and trailer. I have security lights also. I live will live in the building, so it will be secure. This may be premature, I'm not driving yet. I start school next Monday.

We have a county ordinance against trucks inside neighborhoods. Good luck with that.

It is a commercial building in a commercial park, outside the city limits.

I asked a couple truckers for their advice.
They both told me that they are renting space.

1.) 4 miles from his home - $45 per month
2.) 1.5 miles from his home - $80 per month in a major city
I'm not nearly as think as you confused I am!

$45 per month seems like a good price. I'd pay it.
