Both to the board, and the industry. I am a WAY ABOVE AVERAGE "jailhouse lawyer" and by no means a newb to internet discussion boards (dating back to The Well - early '90's and UseNet Discussion Groups). While capable of biting satire & wit, I usually keep things civil.
I'm hear to learn what I can, and share what I've learned. There appears to be no such thing as "learning too much" about this industry.
Far as stuff in 49 CFR 390's go, there are plenty of "grey areas" that are neither defined thoroughly or adequately explained. A lot depends on arbitrary interpretation of whatever LEO happens to have you pulled. There is probably NO TRUCK on the road, that can't be cited for one of a zillion things that you may or may not catch on the usual pre-trip.
We can "mince" these grey areas on the board all we want, but there's a 50/50 shot on ANY OF THEM, depending on the mood of the office, and the ATTITUDE of the driver.
Look forward to more spirited debates. You and Rev oughta just get MARRIED already...

Judging by your join date, you are new. But, you sound like one of our posters who were "lost" in the transition a year ago. Anyway.... I find your style and substance interesting. I'm sure we'll disagree on some things, but.... I hope we can do so with civility. I like a good debate. Mostly, I appreciate an intelligent thought.
