    Default Terra Logitics-run!

Run from this broker! Load delivered 10-18-2011, billed 11-9-2011. I call and get always busy signal, try different number of theirs and get put on hold or transferred and get "dropped" then. They claim they mailed check 12-27-2011. Last time I checked it doesn't take past 2-3 days to receive check from Dallas TX to central Kansas. Plus I called before Christmas and story was it mailed 12-12-11 then. I doubt I will ever see my money from this broker.

Back when I was an O/O, I would check out brokers for negative feedback before accepting any loads from them. Something like this would have been a huge red flag...
I believe that this company is NOT what you think it is. There are reports of fraud associated with this company.

Personally, I would NOT consider dealing with them under any circumstances. Here is an excellent site that has information on the evidence supporting the claims of fraud.

Decide for yourself, but a reputable person would be comfortable dealing with legitimate shipping concerns such as FedEx, UPS or one of many companies that you would be familiar with.

They claim to have been in business since 2007, and their most common freight seems to be lumber. But, with a report like this, I would not move one 2 X 4 for them. I'd keep looking for a load. C. H. Robinson (Cheap 'n' Heavy) generally came through without a problem, even if I had to wait half a day. Maybe a day and a half once, and that was before the economy tanked.

    Wind,

Where did you get the feedback from brokers?

I simply did a google search on Terra Logistics, then started going through the selections till I found what I was looking for. You can do the same with any company. If the information is not favorable, don't do any business with them.

I'm also aware that, with some brokers, they wait to pay you until they get paid, which could be months. Gman would be the best to answer that one, though.

For over a year they have been 40+DTP and refuse to give credit info. Did you check them at all before using them?

RTS has them with an “F” rating showing an average of 55 days to pay for a total of 16 experiences. Ansonia shows an alert posted for them.
While I feel bad for you, I have three questions:

    1) Why would you haul a load for an F rated company?
    2) Why did it take you nearly a month to invoice them?
    3) Why have you not filed on their bond?

You have to take responsibility for the loads you haul and for the business relationships you get involved in.

If you are an OOIDA member, call them and ask to speak to LaDonna Dempton. She will call and harass them and even go after their bond for you.
