They cost about $7.50 each new, perhaps less by the case. They are high in calorie and fat contend and low on substance. Meaning that you can eat one and still "feel" hungry even though you have had a balanced meal.

You might check Ebay, since I heard a rumor about people who hoarded them (and other gifts from the government and red cross) after hurricane Katrina may be selling them now.

Also a lot of the online survival stores sell them.

Nothing is foolproof to a talented fool.

The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
    Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

Just wanting to let you know they are designed so you only need to eat one a day 2000 cal per bag, so if you only eat once a day they would be very cost effective

They are also really designed for extremely high activity levels. If you are not up and moving most of the day all they are going to do for you is pack on the pounds.
Finding the right trucking company is like finding the right person to marry. I really comes down to finding one whose BS you can put up with and who can put up wih yours.

You'll get enough saltpeter to at least keep you from going cross-eyed too.
