    Default ABC's.... Wife Swap

    This show is sooo funny....

They take polar opposite families and swap the wives for two weeks.

The show is funny but I keep hearing from my kids and husband " We should do that"

By we I guess that means me.....

I am sorry... but I am afraid of someone polar opposite myself.

I don't want to live in someone else's house...
Not to mention not see my man for two whole weeks,
that might be a surprise as I'm a trucker's wife but we at least had a phone!! :P

    Two weeks too long.

Has anyone seen the show and thought about going on it?
    Definately not for me.

I've thought about it once, but it would have to be titled ....

2 Not Married Independent Adults living together for 2 wks ...

and see who is still standing in the end .... .... OH SILLY ME .... I've already done that one :!: .... driving with a co-driver that I just met and knew nothing about for a company I was with - and yes - it was a man I drove with .............. but I can honestly say ... I think we both learned something positive at the end of the two weeks ...

I remember flipping thru the TV one night and saw the title of the show and it was comming on. Let's just say I was disapointed when I saw what it was really about.

My question to these parents that go on the Super Nanny show is....How do you let the children control you? I don't care how many children you have, you should never let the kids take charge of you, the parent. Maybe some are afraid to discipline their kids or take the easy way out. It is easier to give a screaming 3yr old what he wants to quiet him down, than to hold your ground and be firm about 'no'.

I agree 100%... with you on that... Honestly watching the show she does nothing really special but calls making your kids mind and giving them consequences when they don't techniques.....

It used to be called parenting

But the sad truth I know people that could use her help....
Don't make the kids mind, don't like it when you do, and wonder why people don't want to be around them.

Bottom line parenting is work you have to committ to it and be consistant, people think giving in to their kids it love, NO... thats easy it's much harder to say no and teach them about life.

Best advice I ever got was, teach your child how to behave .... or someone who doesn't love them will do it for you. I would rather it be me.

My kids know when I say 'no', it means just that. They also know when I have had enough, and if they still don't behave, then they are in big trouble.

The problem is most parents don't know how to be parents. Most were raised by daycares themselves. Or they try too hard to be their kids friend. My kids and I are very close but I am MOM not their buddy. They respect me and their father. we have had some great times with our kids and they come to us when they need help but they know there are limits and boundaries and when to not push those.

As for the wife swap thing.. we were just talking about that the other day. My 18 yr old said they would probably send some code pinko idiot and he would have to hurt her. LOL So I guess that is not going to be something this family does.

I'm 17 and my mom and me get along great, we're like best friends but she is still my mother and I respect her 100% plus more! Don't be your kids "buddy" until they help pay bills, when they help pay bills you can be their buddy all they want!
