How many husbands leave home angry?

I was wondering if I was the only one? He is happy when he comes home, and is irritated to angry by the time he has to leave. Once he is on the road again, he seems to be fine.

My does that too, though we try not to be fighting when he leaves. He is just pissed off he has to leave so soon. My husband is home every weekend and during the week now but even that seems too short.

When I was working I think I did it too, Your mad that you have to leave then once your gone you just get your work face on and are fine. I personally think that it is normal and just remind myself of that when he is giving me attitude. The sweeter and more loving I am just make him madder that he has to leave.

Maybe they pretend to be angry but they are really anxiuos to get back to work?? I'm just throwing that out there. I know when I go over sea's I am sad to be leaving but inside I'm excited to be going somewhere. Maybe they feel like if there happy to be leaving they will think that you think they don't want to be there...I don't know. Just rambling.

Oh thats sweet. Heres some advise you shouldn't fake out your wife if your excited to leave and act angry to cover up your guilt. That would be the last way I would want to leave my family. Sorry but how long you been married? Cus I can read my husband like an internet forum (open book) and I hate liars.

I didn't say I did that. Dang! I was just saying that might be the case. I guess it was a case of the wording. I don't lie about it. I tell her I'm excited to go but sad too. Only difference is when I leave I'm gone for 6 months to a year and might not come back. I wouldn't judge so quickly.

Just for the record...We'll be married 11 years this Friday. :shock:

No worries. No hard feelings. I know being a truckers wife isn't easy, even more difficult with little children. There is light at the end of the tunnel. After a year they can drive for whom ever they want and be home every night.

When I head back out I get upset cause the time home has gone so fast. I get moody cause I'm having to leave my husband for 2 weeks....again. He says that he trys not to think about me leaving cause it'll make him sad and then it'll make me feel even worse. Once I'm back on the road it gets better and I can hardly wait till I'm back home again. Gives me something to look forward to. We talk every morning bright and early and usually 1-2 times during the day. He'll call me or I will to him at night to say good night. He's proud of me and what I do for a living and that means a whole lot when I'm on the road.

Thanks for the replies. He can get frustrated out on the road, and I get to hear all of his frustrations. He tends to be a controling person. I knew this when I married him. I know I have my faults, but he doesn't hae to yell about what he finds fault with though.

I have noticed that the more he is stressed, the more uptight he gets. As the one poster said, guys keep it bottled up. I just guess the bottle gets opened around me. If he is not stressed and everything is going, good he is fine.

Things are looking better right now. Well, if only his new dispatcher can get him home. That is for another post.

Can't say that I've ever left home angry, a bit sad though. I'm always very happy to get home and I hate leaving, unless my better half's riding with me.
