I rode everyone they had back in 2000 and Millennium Force was the best with Mantas being a close second and then this one you have, Magnum XL. MF would take you 310 ft high on the first drop with a top speed of about 92 mph back then, ride lasted all of 45 seconds. Mantas was just flat wild with all the twisting and turning while standing up. There is a reason why Cedar Point keeps getting voted the best amusement park in the US. One visit and you will see why. The workers are top notch and the lines while long, move extremely fast.

Their newest coaster, Maverick will have the best drop in the world. While most coasters have a drop of 75-80 degrees as being good one's(close to straight down but not quite) Maverick's will be at 95 degrees, just beyond straight down.

I absolutely love coasters. I get to an amusement park and that is absolutely ALL I will do. I rode the Wild Thing up at Valley Fair in Shakopee, MN, when it first opened up and at that time was one of the biggest and fastest. Unreal. And of course, they had the picture tunnel that caught everyone's pictures as they went through. Those pics went up on a video board at the end of the ride...unedited. Never seen so many flashers in all my life.

If anyone is heading to or from Las Vegas from California, you HAVE to go on the coaster in Primm at the Buffalo bills Casino. They BIG yellow one! It doesn't go upside down but you do have to wear a seat belt, haha. The drop is HUGE and it goes into a big hole in the ground. It's great.

My favorite is the American Eagle at Six Flags Great America in Gurnee, IL. All wooden, and it's got two monster drops. There's two roller coaster tracks, side by side, and deep into the ride, they split off and each track is different.

Plus, a few times a year, they turn the cars around, so you can ride it backwards.

Great America makes Valley Fair look like kiddie rides. My wife, who is originally from MN, was insistant that Valley Fair was the greatest. Then I took her to Great America. Needless to say, she was unprepared.

I went to the one outside Pittsburgh, Kennywood, talk about a waste of space. I was disappointed though they were getting ready to re-open Phantom's Revenge without all the inversions. Rode Racer and Exterminator, Thunderbolt was also closed that day. If your into coasters, Kennywood is not for you.

Until you have been to Cedar Point, you have not rode a real coaster. Everyone else is just messing around with ya.

I used to work at the former Paramount's Kings Dominion in Doswell, VA. It's now just plain Kings Dominion as Cedar Point's parent company bought all of Paramount's parks. I will never go back after working in the Rides department, I sincerely hope that Cedar Fair Entertainment cleans that place up. You would think after a death on the Shockwave roller coaster they would change their ways, I never felt safe on another ride after what I saw and which I will only discuss in PM's.

Hey Ford. I rode the old wooden one at Valley Fair a number of years back and something went wrong with it. Last ride of the night. Sprained my neck on that one. Couple people had broken arms from getting banged around hard on that ride. Someone said "some joker turned it up," but I'm not sure how you could do a coaster that way unless you turned down the brakes.

Would have to have been a mechanical failure. All operators do is push a button to start the ride, once the train clears the station, a computer controls it. The operator CAN stop it at any time but they cannot make it go faster or run the track more dangerously.

I used to get ripped by guests because they claimed that I made them flip upside down. The ride is made to do that, they saw it do it while in line but still went off at me. All I did was hold the "Go" button until the ride cleared the station and that was it, it was on it's own unless I hit "Stop."

    Default Coaster rides

Nope, I haven't ridden a single one. I've ridden a total of 653 in the US, Mexico and Europe. That is counted as a single ride on each. Many I have ridden hundreds of times. (Magnum, Beast, Rebel Yell and Space Mountain among others. CB handle is "The Coaster Nut"

A roller coaster is the only place in public that you can do the following all at the same time
    1. Put your arms in the air
    2. Pick your feet up off the floor
    3. Go up to 125 mph
    4. Scream
    AND NOBODY EVEN NOTICES!!!
