    Default My Weather

    Is a Joke
Been snowing for a week with some areas with close to 40" of that White Global Warming Crap. To make matters worse is the Hurricane Strenghth Winds that came with it.

Crazy, aint it. Like here, this time last week, we had thunderstorms. Now, we gotta chance of show. Well, this might just be a year that the Mesquite trees got fooled. :P If it freezes for any length of time, every stalk of wheat in north Texas will be froze out. Maybe not all, but the earlier stuff is already heading out. Some guys sow their wheat when they get the cotton out. The later stuff might have better chances of making it.

Weather is supposed to stay like this up here for the whole month.
I guess my one day of 70 a couple of weeks ago was our summer.

Wife says we've only got TWO WEEKS of summer up there. But I have to admit, it ain't bad watching the snow-blower rust down here while I'm sharpening the lawn-mower blade. These days, I just wear a T-shirt when I go outside. And, I don't have to cut a little hole in the ice to go fishing. But, I do miss the maple syrup.

Pushing 44" now but they say it'll wind down in a day or 2 :P
I used to tap my own trees and boil it down but haven't done that in a few years.

Nephew says his neighbor has all the trees tapped, and plastic hoses running all over the woods. What's the going price for syrup up there now? He also says the cold weather up there now may turn the tapping into a joke. I'd like to see a GOOD year for maple. They don't have any of that down here. I miss it.

The best tapping weather is when the Temperature drops below freezing at night and then up to the 40's or higher during the day.

No clue what the going price is now-I ran tubeing too and I had a small time operation with me-myself and I doing it all. And that is Hard work-I started early morning and didn't get done til late at night.

Once a person has tried REAL maple syrup they'd never go back to that crap they sell in stores.
