Storytellers
I have no idea if this will work or not, but....
Ok, someone writes a short story about themselves/something that happend to them, etc.- then everybody else has to decide if it is COMPLETLY true, or totally/partially false.
Example: I went OTR w/hubby last fall; at a TS in the AZ desert, we watched a homless guy w/ a 'zz Top' kind of beard, dig through the trash- he found a half smoked cigarette/lighter; he went to light it, and his beard caught fire!
(here I'd have to wait a while for a few of you to post your guesses)
Then....
Yes, that is totally true.
Ok, now I'll start for real:
I am 32, my DAD is 83; he faught in WWII, and has one prosthetic leg.

Hmm, It could be True, but than would a woman really say her true age in front of anyone. Hm then we could be leading to false under that. But for the fun of it I will Say Yes that is true =).

I'm 21, I drive for US-Xpress, and make just enough money to live on.
(so now someone either says True, or False to that)
Ok I think I know how this works now =).

Random_Facts, I would expect that yours is TRUE.
Some years ago, when Lake Station, IN still had a "TRAVELPORT", a friend and I stopped in to eat in the (good) restaurant. When we sat down, he noticed a young mother with a kid, about 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 years old in one of those high-chairs they had. My friend admired both of them, and called the waitress over to order a piece of BANANA CREAM PIE for the kid. The baby enjoyed it thoroughly. When they were done, she picked him up from behind and carried him at arms length. There was pie in his hair, on his face, both arms covered with it, and all down the front of him. She stopped at our table and held the kid out to my friend. "Johnny, would you like to give the nice man a hug and thank him for the pie? The expression on my friend's face instantly changed from being thoroughly pleased with himself to shear terror.

WindWalker: That MUST be true! (or you were just responding to the fake example! )
When I was about 14, I camped out with a friend in his backyard on a ranch in Texas. The yard was surrounded by a garden of corn. We had a fire, but in the wee hours of the morning, the fire died down, the wolves began to howl, and the corn was rustling as they circled. Suddenly, two of them charged us, and I staved them off by swinging a lawn chair at them, hitting them at least twice in the snout! They retreated, and we sat up the rest of the night after building the fire back up!

Well... if you're saying "totally false" you're wrong. If voting for "partially false," you got me.
I know the difference between the howl of a wolf and a coyote. They had a cattle ranch, and we placed bombs out to kill BOTH. [They told me they'd carried off carcasses of wolves.] These were wolves! But, though they circled, howled, and scared us to death, FACT is, we awoke and built up the fire and stood guard all night. NONE charged! No lawnchair defense! Close as I ever want to come to being eaten, though!
BTW.... TF, it's YOUR turn!

Fish story time, then.
Much better told in person, but I'll be brief for this. Went fishing at George Wythe State Park in Waterloo, IA a number of years back.
Had 2 poles...put on a steel leader, baited it up the first with liver and a crawler for the big catfish they allegedly had and cast it way out there. Set it up on my bucket, put a big rock on the end of it, burying it in the sand so it wasn't going anywhere.
Sat down to rig up my other pole for bass fishing when the next thing I know, the rock was in the air and my other pole was in the water.
I dived in, got my hands on it, and managed to set the hook. I spent the next 10-15 minutes sitting in water up to my chest, fighting what could only be a really, really big fish. It'd go running, taking line, then come back in and I'd reel it all back in. Over and over again this happened until I was reeling enough that I figured it had snapped the line. Next thing I knew, the fish jumped...less than 10 feet from me.
Tiger Muskie...
Easily 4' long or better...
Probably ran around the 40-50 pound mark...
Good thing I was already in the water.
It snapped the line mid-jump.

Like ALL fish stories... this has GOT to be stretching the truth SOMEWHERE!!
A fisherman couldn't tell the truth if it JUMPED into his boat!!
Unfortunately, I DO know that a big fish can "drop a hook" when the line is loose and both are tired! But.... Naw.... I don't believe it!
Sounds too "fishy" to me!

Let's see... NOW we wait for the original storyteller to confirm or deny. And THEN someone else (or him) tells another one?
Hmm.... this one is very confusing.

Sadly for the spot on my living room wall, 'tis a true story. Every word. Had my brother-in-law with me, rolling on the sand and laughing at me. Had about a half dozen people gathered around watching and one lady actually started crying when I lost it. It was a pretty amazing jump...scared me half to death, too.
Funny thing about that lake, before the Iowa floods back in '93, I believe, there wasn't much more than bass, bluegill, crappie, and some channel cat in there. Decent fishing, but nothing to write home to mother about. When the floods went through, the Iowa River there overflowed it's banks and "stocked" the lake with plenty of really big fish. About 2 months before I was there fishing, they had some kid walking in the water over in the swimming area, dragging his fingers in the water. A muskie went for his hand. Didn't lose any fingers, but ended up with something like 100 stitches to close the wounds. I saw the picture of it on the wall of a nearby bait shop. They built a curtain around the swimming area after that.

I remember being 21 and all the kid type bs I spent money on and the credit cards my wife charged to the hilt (her debt isnt my prob anymore divorce is great). Soooo, id say agree, but youll look back and say "if i could have only spent my money better". If you are 21, no kids, not married and making at least 25k a year if you are just getting by, you need to have a loooong chat with a man named Dave Ramsey.

I figured both of your things to be true. I've been rowing a boat and had a muskie grab an oar. I tried to swing the oar over the boat and drop it in, but when it hit the side of the boat, it let go. A teenage girl that was swimming in a lake near Oshkosh, WI was attacked by a muskie too. Near Madison, a guy trailing his hand in the water from a canoe had to have stitches too. They do get nasty. And I've had one drag my canoe around Lake Nakomas for more than an hour before it snapped the line. I've also seen another guy fight one for more than 3 hours. In the end, he was crying in his beer in a bar because the fish left him with 12 inches of line on his reel.
A guy and his son brought one into a boat, and clubbed it in the head. They didn't kill it, and when it came to, it started to flop around and twist. When they got it to shore, both of them had legs cut to ribbons. It's a FORMIDABLE fish to have mounted on your wall.

My old boss has the coolest mounting of a Muskie I've ever seen. He and his wife would go to Manitoba (I think that's where they go) every summer for a couple weeks, fishing. I don't know where it is, but apparently the fishing cabin sits out on a small island surrounded by a huge lake.
Anyway, they were out fishing one morning and he got a really nice strike. Turned out to be a Northern, about 19 inches long. Nothing major, but it would be a fun fight for him. That's about when the 52" Tiger Muskie hit it and refused to let it go.
Yes, he got it in. Yes, both fish are mounted...the lure in the Northern's mouth and the Northern in the Muskie's mouth. I've seen the mounting and I've seen the pictures taken on the boat with the Muskie clamped on the Northern. Pretty wild stuff.
