I go down there all the time when I just need to get away. Wife and I try to get a cabin up in the hills away from Gatlinburg.

That is a beautiful area. I miss what it was like before all the development, but it is still a great place to kick back.

Ha ha no way Jumbo! I insisted my wife go this time. The inflatable is worthless in the hot tub (wont go under for nothing LOL) and cant hike at all!

Same here, about ten miles out of town, up high and secluded. Be here till Friday. Hiking and relaxing.

Saw a bear today! We were returning to the truck at a trailhead after a short hike and there it was. 20 feet away. It was foggy and just before dark so the lighting is bad and so are my camera skills but it was still cool as heck. It was just roaming around and let me take all the pictures I wanted.

well bears are nice as long as you don't bug them. Of course I heard this story, and can't confirm it but sounds like something a true idiot would do, lol. He thought the bear was dead so he kicked it. Needless to say, he was lucky to be alive after that crazy stunt.
