A buddy of mine just left CCC and went to work for them, only been there a few weeks but he has told me the tractor he has has no working heat , no cruise control and has a slight coolant leak, not to mention it was filthy when he picked it up. His outlook is much like yours, he told me the pay has to be better then what he was getting so he is kind of happy. You are right any job is a good job at this point, suck it up, hang in there and remember the best time to find a job is when you have a job..
things will change eventualy, (Hopefully)

thank you timberwolf for the reply. as u know it is hard to find any job in florida. rock trucks arnt running, and anyone that has a half way good job is keeping it until they retire. ha.....anyway. i was concerned that since they use to have alot of trucks, were they trying to spread the miles and cheap rates among all.
we will see since i am comitted at this point....again appreciate the come back......stay safe. oh yea...fabreeze is a necessity in any company truck

This man ever put in a request to get any of it repaired?
Usually they jump right onto it at the next terminal or service center, whichever comes first.
I know when I drove Swift that they did this whenever I said something stopped working.
I say stick with it and give yourself some time to shine in there.
At least the bigger companies are a better place to start out and move on with than two of the smaller ones I had to endure after my enjoyment with the large one I was with.

Sometimes the condition of the truck is not always a reflection of the compnay but sometimes a reflectionof the people that have been driving them. If it is filthy inside and a bunch of stuff does not work, chances are someone had that truck and just didnt give 2 craps about it and didnt put any effort into getting things fixed.

exactly. Some lard butt who didn't have the energy to write up and turn in a repair order. probably has bent up cab extenders and steps. seems like usxpress hires a lot of females, not sure if that's a benefit or not.

Last I heard they were doing well, even helped other companies by partnering/buying them, so I'd say thier finacial health is probably prety good. I know they own arnold and I beleave total trucking.

And I'll second that, if you have a job, your doing well, took me from nov till now to get back in the trucking industry. I have a very unglameous trucking job. Most wouldn't take it becuse of the hours and physical labor involved, not to metion the pay but right now I'm just thankful to have a driving job to keep me in the loop when a decent job opens up ( that will be june when my last acedent passes 3 years)

Also have a chunk of Smith Transport, Roaring Spring, PA. Nice shiny BLACK trucks!
