Depends on one's experience level, type of freight, running lane, etc. I've seen .25/mi all the way up to .50/mi.

As a company driver.....$27.90 and hour straight time, $97.65 at triple time and a half.
As an O/O....$389 for a load that moved 3/4 mile and took 2 hours to get done. Twice....on the same day.

And they let you put golden flames on yer hood??
I have seen some drivers who have made over $1/mile on percentage, but that wasn't the norm. That was for a 1,200 mile OD load.

$1600.00 in 12 hours. 340 loaded miles.
Dosn't Heartland advertise 54/mile for the "green zone"?. For big carriers I think most max around .42 - .43.
When I was looking around earlier this year one company offered me .31 to start. This with almost 18yrs in the seat.

you got me beat, the best paying load we have goes 6 miles round trip and pays $240.00, takes about 4 hours and is a total pain in the ass to get in to where they load it

Take for example my former employer, Superior Carriers, or any other good chemical tanker outfit that pays their drivers for about everything they do work related. At Superior the standard mileage rate is .415 Loaded/.34 Empty. Doesn't sound that great does it? When you consider that after being with them for 3 years of employment, my c.p.m. rate worked out to an average of around .52+/mile off of the hub, and roughly about .57/mile from just the paid mileages!!!

He stated in another thread that he quit and went to another company, won't say which one yet. Superior along with a lot of other companies are having rough times right now and taking it out on the driver it seems. I bet he went to another tanker company though.

The thing with alot of these carriers that advertise .50 CPM or close to it, is that you're not running the miles.
and usually the bennies suck terribly.

Talked to a JB driver and he stated that with 4 years experience, he started at .34 a mile. Then he followed that up with "but I sit alot waiting for loads":moon:

Anyone who has that many jobs in such a short time has some issues.
